When we enter the gates of Il Salviatino,
the warm spring sun is setting. The candid
façades of the Renaissance villa, situated on
the gentle slopes of the hills of Fiesole, reflect
the pink nuances of dusk. The enchanted
atmosphere of the park and the harmony
of the Italian garden envelop us. The bustle
of the city is blocked at the doorway, an
undesirable guest. Upon reaching the villa,
we are led into the majestic softly-lit library
with its antique shelves of robust chestnut
wood, laden with hundreds of books.
