In 1953 Augusta Pesenti transformed the villa into

a hotel, giving Forte dei Marmi its first real De Luxe

structure. Then, one after another, followed the

extensions, villas, the building La Nave - designed

and furnished as a cruise ship - and the acquisition

of Villa Agnelli which - with its exclusive underpass

          - is connected to the beach, where the original

hangar for the Agnelli seaplane has been

transformed into the Avgvstvs Beach, with more

than 100 tents and an heated pool. The cuisine in

both Bambaissa (on the beach) and Le Perroquet

(in the main building) is excellent. Attentive service

          accompanies traditional Italian dishes presented

with a fine wine list which represents a fitting

introduction to the production of the Peninsula.
