Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus reflects the changing face of modern
Istanbul, infusing a 19th-century Ottoman palace with the contemporary elegance of its
waterfront setting. The hotel is located on the European banks of the legendary Bosphorus
strait with views across to the hills of Asia. Inside, stylish interiors offer a refreshing take
on traditional Ottoman design, creating a ftting base from which to explore the upscale
shops, restaurants and bars of the city’s modern centre. The hotel occupies the original
palace building and two new wings. The former 19th- century Ottoman palace was known
as Atik Pasha. It was one of a group of several palaces originally referred to as the Feriye
Palaces, built as secondary residences along the Bosphorus’ European coast near the
Sultan’s principal summer palace.
